- Contribute to the development of the Country Animal Health organisational strategy and long term operating plan
- Translate the overall strategy into Sales & Marketing projects and activities with aligning with regional/global product strategy
- Direct the activities of the sales and marketing group for the achievement of short and long term business objectives, increased sales, market share and profitability
- Identify and develop new and growth business opportunities
- Manage pricing and product mix to maximise gross profit of the business unit. O Ensure effective utilisation of promotional budgets and resources
- Prepare expenditure and revenue budgets for the Key Accounts, providing regular updates and variance reporting as required
- Provide strategic direction to the team to ensure an effectively integrated and productive team
- Effective management of brand planning process, ensure marketing fundamentals are embedded into the business o Championing new methods of customer interaction including non-traditional marketing channels
- Drive the growth of key inline brands
- Champion the development of new initiatives such as new products, new marketing techniques, new advertising campaigns, the review of unprofitable products and maintain a business to business relationship with key customer entities, including, distributors, direct customers and indirect customers
- Strong market preparation for new brands
- Ensure strong launch capability within marketing team
- Leverage technology to achieve optimal customer experience
- Effectively communicate across all divisions/countries and species to achieve business outcomes.
- Maintain effective working relationships with major suppliers, customers and key industry groups
- Work closely with logistics, customer service and production to ensure efficient supply chain management
- Ensure accurate sales forecasts are provided to enable reliable product supply
- Ensure satisfactory level of technical support for customers.
- People management and development
- Effectively lead and manage staff, leveraging available tools and resources to set objectives, reward and recognise performance and train & develop expertise
- Coach direct reports in all aspects of performance vs objectives in an ongoing & timely manner o Develop subordinates' Competency and Career
- Hold people accountable for the delivery of projects and achievement of business results
- Ensure all activities of the sales, technical and marketing groups comply with relevant Acts, policies, legal requirements and ethical standards
- Build a productive working environment, winning team culture & trustworthy relationships as a business unit manager
REQUIREMENTS
- 7 years’ relevant management experience with good proficiency in English Language
- Relevant tertiary qualification (scientific, marketing or business qualification preferred)
- Demonstrated, successful commercial track record in regulated environments
- Broad commercial experience and proven ability to establish strong influential relationships with key stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience managing marketing professionals, with an understanding of sales processes as a key part of the marketing mix
- Experience in building and maintaining high performing teams & leading teams through change
- Strong Product and Technical Knowledge of AH Industry, including a background in Livestock Husbandry, Animal Health, or Animal Nutrition
