KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Legal

  • Responsible for drafting, reviewing and commenting all legal documentation
  • Review and update legal vetting procedures as required to maintain the effectiveness and suitability to business needs
  • Participate into business projects and to provide quality legal advice on all arrangement entered into by the legal entities from time to time
  • Responsible for board governance matters
  • Manage external law firms, oversees investigations and manage litigation and disputes resolution
  • Provide training on basic legal knowledge to staff and management team
  • Responsible for Group legal and regulatory reporting

Compliance

  • Develop compliance strategy and implement the compliance framework and standards for the BUs by following legal requirement, following or adapting and applying group policies and procedures
  • Overseeing the compliance function to make sure the following is delivered:
  • Carries out compliance risk assessment, compliance planning and relevant compliance training
  • Issue guidelines, communicate and work with different department heads in building up a compliance system in various operational areas
  • Review and update the compliance standards and make recommendations improve the compliance system to ensure its effectiveness and appropriateness to business needs
  • Carries out the continuous Compliance monitoring and annual review to make sure the effectiveness of the compliance system
  • Maintain regulation database and update on the legal and regulatory changes to managers
  • Provide business advice on compliance matters
  • Produce compliance reports to local management and corporate centre




Qualifications/Experience

  • Degree Holder in law
  • Strong understanding of financial services. International experience is a bonus,
  • Proven ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks to successfully meet deadlines,
  • Ability to work with senior management in a clear and confident manner,
  • A good understanding of a wide variety of investment fund vehicles,
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including good negotiation skills,
